“The greatest good you can do for another is not just to share your riches but to reveal to him his own.” -Benjamin Disraeli, British statesman
This applies to more than just materialistic riches. When I read this quote, immediately I relate it to the importance of complimenting each other, opening each other’s eyes to the beauty in each of us that we don’t necessarily see when we look in the mirror. Especially in women, we tend to be extremely over-critical of ourselves. Let this be a reminder to tell your friends, sisters, moms, grandmothers, aunts, cousins, lady passing by with gorgeous hair… why they are so beautiful and divine. Maybe we can’t all afford to donate to charity or give away a dress for a young girl’s prom or offer our time to volunteer in the community, but one thing we can ALL afford is to stop the negativity and start focusing on the beauty within each of us. It’s so there.
Concentrate on bringing out the best in others, and you’ll bring out the best in yourself.
